Theme: Changing water in your community We hear about climate change in the news everyday, but the result of a changing climate is changing water, either too much or too little! For some communities this change is seen in the heavy rainfall and extreme flooding, for others it is a constant need to find water as sources are running dry, and some are even seeing their community disappear as seas are rising. This year students, from around the world, gave voice to this problem through videos, posters, and poems showing that we all say 'climate change' but what we feel is 'water change' . See the winners below.
The winners were chosen through public voting at Earth Day events in Ann Arbor, Michigan and Fairfax, Virginia. Winning entries (and selected finalists) will be used throughout the year in publicity campaigns aimed at increasing awareness of 'changing water' in communities throughout the world. We thank all educators and students who put incredible thought and creativity into 'Giving Water a Voice'. |
