Water Resource Management for Energy Conservation (WRMEC)

wrmec circleWater Conservation = Energy Conservation

The WRMEC program identifies and quantifies links between water and energy sectors and uses these links to influence the design and implementation of freshwater conservation policies, programs, and projects specifically focusing on the following three elements:

In recent years, two issues have emerged within our nation’s policy development and national spending focus; energy and the economy.  The energy-economy equation however, is missing a key variable; water.  To indentify the value of water in this equation, NVOC has investigated and quantified energy reductions and cost savings achievable through water resource management projects.   Our findings reveal that by combining the concepts of water and energy conservation, there is an enormous opportunity to address key, water, energy, and economic dilemmas.
